Sunday was a great time. Dottie and the kids are a great family and I am blessed. I am also blessed with a wonderful father myself. Thanks Dad!!!!

IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY June 17, 2008

Well, the kids run in the family anyways. On Saturday June 14th, Meg and JJ ran in the yearly YMCA 5K. Meg placed 3rd in her division winning a medal and 68/110 overall. JJ finished strong placing 5th in his division and 76/110 overall. Dottie and I, well we worked the race. They needed too much help for us to be able to run. hahahahahahahaha.

In Luke 22:42, Jesus gives us the perfect example of following fatherly advice. He says, “not My will, but Yours, be done.” This is powerful. With this one phrase Jesus shows us that we should listen to the Father. Here it is God the Father and we should follow His will for our lives. At the same time we should honor and respect our earthly fathers. We may think at times that we have one up on them, but what we usually find out is that they really did know what was best and still know what is best. Let your fathers know you love and appreciate them.

Jana and I had a fun time today as we interviewed Josh who is the High School Pastor at Saddleback. This guy is a nut and loves teens. A great combination!!!! He will be featured on our show in the next couple of months as part of a youth ministry series. He knows Jana fairly well and I was hoping to get some stories on her but she black-mailed him because she apparently has some good info on him. So, oh well. There is no way around this truth. Sadly there is nothing we can do to make up for missing the mark EXCEPT take hold of the gift that God has given us.
“For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16
If you don’t have this gift, talk with someone today. If you do have this gift, pass it on.

June 5th was my birthday. First of all thanks Mom and Dad for giving me birthdays. Dottie and the kids gave me a great day and thank you to all the notes and messages sent via a variety of media. It’s great to have friends.

On June 3rd, 2008 JJ took first place in the school field day “egg toss”. He and his partner placed first in the whole 7th grade. AWESOME
