Yesterday was a great day as we took time to remember those that gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. As a family we had a cookout, played games, and sat around the bonfire. It was a great day to be a family, an American, and a believer in Christ as He is the reason that we have the country we do in which we can freely worship.

A MOVIE AND A POND May 25, 2008

Had a great time yesterday as Dottie surprised me and took me to the new Indiana Jones movie. It was good. It was a nice date out. Afterwards, we installed a garden pond. We have actually had the pond for awhile, but it has just been sitting there in the ground. We cleaned it up and put a fountain pump in it. It is now losing water though, so not sure why. If anyone knows how pumps can make ponds lose water, let me know.

HAVE YOU COMMITTED THE GREAT COMMISSION? – 5/25/08 May 25, 2008

What kind of question is that? Well, a good one if I might say. I have been studying in school this week the “Great Commission”. This is in my “Evangelism and Church Growth” class. The Great Commission appears in Scripture 5 times, most notably in Matthew 28:19-20. It is so easy to get caught up in doing church that we forget the most important aspect of sharing the faith. We are great at talking about the “commission”, but if we think it is truly great, then will we not go out and commit it? Take the challenge and share your faith, the love of Jesus Christ with someone this week.

A TEACHER WITH “FUNNY MATH” May 23, 2008

The teacher that JJ has had trouble with has some “funny math” skills. I don’t mean in laughter either. I attempted to clarify JJ’s grade and the person that assisted me said that she stated something along the lines that it is a system that works for her and would take too long to try to explain. Sounds fishy to me. Can’t we just say that 2+2=4? That is simple enough.

TWO TESTS TODAY May 23, 2008

Well, school is officially underway for sure. I had two tests today. I scored an 80 on one and a 96 on the other. God answered my prayers. I have not had as many posts recently because school has kept my busy. Keep checking in though and I would love to hear from you.

Obey the first time? Are you serious? Well, that is what we are supposed to do. One great example of this is found in Genesis 17:23. Abraham was obedient to the law of circumcision. Verse 23 tells us, “in the very same day as God had said unto him.” Are we able to make that claim for ourselves? Probably not all the time. Let us strive to do what is right the first time. We will be much happier for it.

NO FREE SATURDAY HERE May 17, 2008

Originally there was nothing on the schedule today except work around the house and do school work. Well then in part due to the rain of the past day my schedule filled up. JJ had an early soccer game and then a baseball game. It was fun to watch him though. His baseball game was the best yet. He hit in the game-winning run. He had a 2 great catches in the outfield and had a couple of good bats making it home once himself. Overall was a good day. I am going with Meg on our monthly date and then all of us are going to watch one of JJ’s movies, “The Water Horse, Legend of the Deep.” Well, that’s it for now.
