Philippians 4:6 tells us to not be anxious about anything. I Peter 5:7 tells us to cast all our care on the Lord. These are commands from the Lord that most of us probably break quite frequently. If that is the case, then what does that say about our prayer life and trust in God? If we believe God to be faithful then why do we continue to worry after we pray to Him? Let’s get on with the life that God has in store for us and just be happy!!!

HOSTING AN ALL-NIGHTER April 27, 2008

We held a variety show at church tonight to raise funds for our missions trip to Mexico. So nowwe are having an all-nighter at the church. Some people call this crazy to do on a Saturday night. Oh well, it’s all for the young people to have fun.

Had a good day!!!! Went and recorded the radio show. Jana and Larry are great to work with. It is always fun when we get together. After that went to church to get some things ready for the weekend. A lot of activity taking place over the next few days. Then it was off for a hot date with Dottie. She was off today so we went and had lunch. It is nice to date your spouse. Everyone should set time aside for that. Set some time aside for their own spouse that is not mine. LOL.

ADMIN ASSIST DAY AND OUT WITH THE TEENS April 23, 2008

Today was a busy day. It is administrative assistant day and so my senior pastor and I took our two assistants out to lunch. They have done and do a lot of work. I also spent time this evening with a couple of the teens. We went to one of their ballgames. I believe in youth ministry you need to spend time with the teens outside of church time. This helps you build trust and a relationship with them.

Was able to spend some time with Dottie’s family this past weekend in North Carolina. Did some metal detecting and found some “junk” and pocket change. JJ went out with me and we had a good time.

REMEMBER THE IOWA April 22, 2008

This past Saturday, 4/19/08, marked the 19th anniversary of the explosion on-board the USS Iowa BB61. 47 Navy sailors lost their lives in that tragedy. I was on-board when it happened and helped recover the bodies of those lost. I thank God for sparing my life and my thoughts and prayers continue to be with those left behind.

Exodus 14:13 says, “Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today”.
Too many times we try to “help God out” as if we can really do that. In reality God calls us to stand firm on His Word, the Bible, and when we run into those times when we just don’t know what else to do, He will come along and show us the way.
Let us not get in our own way of seeing God’s way.
